Read my mind
Ethan and I had pre-Valentines day conversation a few days ago. It went something like "we don't have money right now, don't worry about Vday." It's just a day right?
Now I sit here at work and there are chocolates and flowers, cards and gift flowing through the doors for some of the other women here. Jealousy... maybe, what's the harm with spending $5 on a card and some small gift like a bottle of body wash or a little trinket. Do you think that even though I have told Ethan not to buy anything that he will? Chances are no. I am going to head into Exeter at lunch, maybe buy him a card, some date squares (his fave) or something. Although it may be just as easy to pull into the Beer Store and buy him a pack of Kilkenny, to him, that would equal a dozen roses! We will see what awaits me tonight.
The boys are at daycare today. I had to write their cards out last night and make some heart topped cupcakes for them to share with their friends. They are keen to celebrate.

Do you watch my favourite show, the Office?
Last season's Vday show was hilarious. Pam told her finace not to get her anything and it was killing her when all these the other ppl kept getting stuff delivered to them. It was really funny 'cuz this one lady got all of this stuff, including a huge-ass teddy bear.
lol about Kilkenny = a dozen roses.
Ethan appreciated the Kilkenny and date squares. He did show up after milking with a bunch of Freisia's (my fave). They are beautiful and smell wonderful. However, he had to mention that he stopped to buy them right before he got home (7pm) and that at this time of year freisia's are cheaper than roses. It's the thought that counts... right?
Pfffffffft.... Roses are cliche. They're expensive because they are overdone.
Who wants a run-of-the mill overpriced flower when you can have something gorgeous and unique?
