Harvest Time

Well it is here. It is 7pm and I am sitting at work waiting for wagons of beans to come rolling in. The weather has been crappy and wet for the last week, just in the last hour or so the beans in the field have dryed enough for harvesting. There are thunderstorms expected tommorow
so there is going to be a marathon of combining going on tonight. I used to like the fall time....

Ethan's stupidest moment

Life right now is pretty boring so I will write about something that happened a few weeks ago.

Sunday of the long weekend, Ethan and I were recovering after a huge italian wedding in St. Catherines. I went down stairs to do laundry and notices a faint "sent" in the air coming from the window that leads to the garage. I tell Ethan that I think our friendly neighbourhood skunk is back and he needs to do something about it as he is the man in the family. I DID NOT MEAN THAT HE HAD TO DO SOMETHING IMMEDIENTLY! However, being a man he decided to rush into the garage and chase the TWO skunks out. SMART, really smart. One sprayed in the garage and the other in the backyard.

Our neighbours hated us that day, Ethan stank and I took the boys and moved out for the night. Started some rummors there.

I later asked Ethan if that was the stupidest moment in his life and he nodded.

A Crash in the Night

To the pet owners out there, be aware, this could happen to you in the middle of the night.

Monty, the $1000 barn cat, is very curious. Last night, curiosity almost made me kill the cat.

At 1:41 am, I am startled out of sleep due to a huge crash. I am one that has some issues of sleep walking and talking, so being jolted out of a dream I run into the spare room where Ethan's sister was sleeping and frantically tell her that someone is hurt. It takes her and Ethan about 5 minutes to actually wake me up out of the dream. Then we have to go investigate what all the banging is all about.

I see a ball of fur and metal go flying across the living room and grab it. Monty had somehow got his collar tag caught in one of the heavy brass floor grates and is freaked! I remove the grate from the collar and then go to survey the damage. There are new tears in the kitchen floor and scratches on the railing. The $1000 barn cat just gained some more liability.

I should tell Mel she is lucky. When we lived in a dorm room together, I warned her about my sleep talking issues but she never got to experience it till now. Ethan just shrugs it off as a common occurance as it has become more frequent since entering twindom.

The stone continued

Ok, to recap. Stone up nose, kind of funny, doctor lady in c4th no help.

We make it through the night with no incidents and we have an appointment with the nose specialist at 11am. Get to St. Ratford with Liam in a pretty good mood. Stone up nose is starting to be funny again as I tell the receptionist and specialist. The specialist can see the stone, however, Liam being Liam, will NOT let anything else go up his nose to pull the stone out. "We are going to have to put him out", oh god, stone up nose not funny again.

12pm, make it to St. Ratford hospital. After a half hour of trying numerous viens for IV, screaming Liam gets a shoot in the A** to put him out. Childern that are conscously sedated are SCAREY. Specialist takes stone out of nose in 30 seconds, it takes Liam 2 hours to wake up. After waking, he throws up down my back. Stone up nose is not remotely funny.

5pm, we head home. Liam sleeps through the night as there is still some sedation left in him. However, every night following for a week Ethan and I get about 4 hours of sleep total due to Liams nightmares from the ordeal. Stone up nose was cursed many times.

Now, weeks later, it is a funny story and will be shared at Liams wedding. Oh, and the stone, I got to keep it. It will have it's own page in the scapbook.
