Bloggin' Block

I don't know what is going on. I have no creativity.

No clue what to put on this blog.

I sat down to scrapbook on Friday night and just stared at a page.

I've got nothing.

And on top of that, I have become addicted to facebook.

Sorry blog!

Why I do what I do

It happens at this time of year. It's a good thing too or else I am not sure what I would do.

After a long winter of sitting at a desk doing crop plans, driving in laneways trying to sell seed and fertilizer, the sun finally comes out and the ground dries out. That means that I get to do what I choose this profession to do. I get to be "outstanding in a field". There is wheat to be checked, weeds to be identified and I get to drive around doing it.

Nothing beats a stroll thru a wheat field at this time of year. A warm wind, sun on the face, the promise of what is to come for the rest of the season. And then a few minutes of shooting the sh*t with the farmer.

Good thing that spring comes around.

Say it ain't so

Ok Wendy, you can say "I told you so".

Many years ago, I swore that I would not buy an SUV. That I could make due with a van or a car. SUV's were gas guzzeling, road hogs, if you wanted 4wheel drive buy a truck.

Yeah, well. I am the pround new owner (actually the bank is) of a 2006 Trailblazer. Since the van was wrote off about a month ago (my mom-in-law rolled it, no kids in it) Ethan and I have been looking at different options. We thought that we would go with another van, but since we are moving out to the farm this fall, we thought that 4wheel drive is a must. I didn't think that a truck had enough room for us so we were forced to look into a SUV.

I love my trailblazer, just need to get used to being a gas guzzeling road hog.

Prrrrrrr

My friend Sally (Vailgirl.blogspot.com) had a post recently about cats and their ability to pur, as well as how it would be great for people to purr. I think it would be great for people to be able to purr, it would show pure happiness.

What made me think of that post, is that I am suffering from a horrible cold. The other night, I was lying in bed and Monty came and curled up by my chest. He started to purr and the vibrations really helped my plugged sinus. My two cats seem to know when I am not feeling well and they cuddle right up with me. When I was off on bedrest before the boys were born, Wilson never left my side. Now it seems that Monty has taken over the post and he sleeps at our feet every night.

The cats have had to adjust to the boys in the house, but they do still steal time with Ethan and I, and they tolerate the boys. Sometimes I find Wilson sleeping on Cole's bed, in amongst the stuffed animals. Monty stays his distance, running from - never fighting with the boys.

We are lucky to have them!

Letters Behind My Name

I did it! I passed both CCA exams. Not sure how, but I did it!

I got a 92% on both of them. Had few glasses of wine to celebrate last night.

Now I just have to jump thru hoops to finish the paperwork to make it all official.
