Are you Pregnant Yet?

Yesterday was the annual family Christmas for my Mom's side of the family. You all know who I am refering to.

What a show. I think that there were over 10 women there that were very pregnant. There were childern everywhere. I'd like to say that mine were the best behaved of the bunch:) At one point my aunt said to me "your mom hasn't had a new grandchild in 2 years, are you pregnant yet?" . I guess that is due to the dutch catholic roots of my family. I have a cousin 3 years older than I am that is on child number 6. The only way that will happen to me is if I get pregnant with quads next!

My sister in law was also getting drilled on whether or not she was pregnant. We grabbed a bottle of wine and guzzeled it... just to prove that we were not pregnant... and ... it helped to have some alcohol in our system to deal with that family.

I love Christmas.

Sadness

Yesterday was one of the worst and hardest days of my life.

April had a freak accident, she hurt herself so bad that we had to make the decision to put her down.

I was there at the end and it was so hard. I think that she was in many ways one of my best friends. We just knew each other, I had no fears or worries when I was with her. She was only ten, I thought I would have at least another 10 years with her.

2 Day Break?

I leave in the morning for 2 days. Training for the Pesticide Vendors Certification in Guelph. Fun huh? I was thinking that I would love to go into Guelph to the university but then realized I would not know a person there. Even my sister-in-law who started with me at Guelph and spent 8 years there becoming a doctor has moved on. Does this mean that I am old?

Anyways, it is 2 days, I am staying at a friends from my old work in Cambridge. I plan on bringing a bottle of wine and us reminising on days gone by while getting drunk.

It is two days away from the twindom. I need the break and I don't. Hate these mixed feelings!

Still working on the pics.

It Was a Matter of Time

Well, the twindom got into a little trouble this past weekend.

Before the twindom was born, we hung a wallpaper boarder at chair rail height in their room. I remember my brother telling me that it was a mistake cause kids will destroy it. I also remeber thinking "not my sweet angels to be".

Yeah, well, there is now 6 ft of that wall paper boarder missing. It happened while I was working on Sunday, while the twindom was sopossed to be napping. Now, I must get the paint brush out and paint a boarder that the twindom will not be able to rip off.

About those halloween and bday pics, I am having difficulty with my camera and I could not transfer my Dad's pics on his super slow computer. Will keep trying.

"This is my elbow Mommy"

I often wonder the thought process that flows through a toddlers head. Everything is wonder and surprise to a two year old.

The other morning, I opened the door of the boys room to wake them up so we could get our morning routine going. Liam was lying in his bed awake, he looks at me and the first thing out of his mouth is "This is my elbow Mommy" and he points at his right elbow. How long to you think that he was thinking about it? Was it a fleeting thought, or had he been pondering that body part since he woke up? Who knows what the next body part he was going to point out was!

On another note, Harvest is almost complete! Finally! I worked till midnight on Wednesday and now I sit at work on a Sunday morning, waiting for the last few soybeans and white beans to come rolling over the scale. Corn is going too, but we don't take too much of it. The farmers are in much better moods now that it has stopped raining and the markets are up. Makes life easier!

CANDY, CANDY, CANDY

How much candy does the twindom deserve? Ethan and I dragged the twindom to 13 houses last night. We only went to people that we knew, who would get a kick out of the twindoms cowboy costumes. (By the way, they were two cute! I will post pics when I get them from my Dad). Anyways, after the twindom went to bed last night, Ethan and I dumped their candy out on the table and had a look. WOW, the twindom was spoiled! We made three piles; one the twindom could eat, one the twindom could not eat and one that we wanted to eat. Really though, how much candy does the twindom need to eat. If I stick to one treat a day each, we will be feeding them candy till March! Which brings to me to the question, is it bad for a parent to eat the child's halloween candy? We don't want our childern to be obese, yet we are becoming it! Maybe I should give the candy away? But to who........?
